In 2005, Gadebrook Stud was delighted to acquire the outstanding colt Binley Prince Salim as a two-week old foal from Caroline Sussex. He came to Gadebrook after weaning. He is by Binley's illustrious Prince Sadik out of the classic Silvern Image, both AHS Premium horses, so of the highest quality Crabbet bloodlines. Salim is now gelded.

As a 4-yr old, Salim went for dressage training with Emma Thomas, and she has now taken him to over 120 Affiliated British Dressage points and is about to start at Medium level (below). Emma also rode Salim for me at the World Crabbet Convention Parade 2013.

He has excelled in endurance with international rider Susan Hawes (right). His successes up to 75 miles and in ridden showing and dressage won him the Overall Championship in the 2013 AHS Performance Horse Awards, presented at the National Arab Show in July 2014 (right). He also won the Premium Endurance Progeny award for 2013 for his breeder Caroline (left in blue), a proud day for all of us, as both owner of Salim and as President of the Arab Horse Society Anne handed out the trophies to Susan and Caroline.

Salim is working his way up the affiliated British Dressage rankings with high scores at Advanced Medium level. His success gained him the 2015 High Points dressage award in the Arab Horse Society Performance Horse Awards (PHA) and helped him to reserve overall champion in the Pure Bred section of the PHA. For the second time he has been awarded the AHS Premium Progeny of the Year, sponsored by Coed y foel stud - kudos to his breeder Caroline Sussex.

Salim is now powering through affiliated EGB endurance rides with Grade 1s and qualified for FEI** International competition in 2013 with national team rider Susan Hawes.

Emma has taken him to so many wins in Affiliated British Dressage that he featured in 'Horse and Hound' in November 2013, click HERE. He features on the cover of the summer 2014 Crabbet Journal, click HERE.

He is a proven sire with daughter Silver Sunbeam producing a filly foal to Crabbet champion Marbon Masadi in May 2014 for Spirit Arabians. Salim covered Zariffia in 2015. We are retaining the resulting 2016 bay/grey colt Hadiya for future stud duties so have gelded Salim.

Salim competed for the first time in the AHS annual Performance Horse Awards in 2012 and came an impressive 4th out of 36 entries with 522 points. He will receive his Award from the AHS President at the Arab Championships in July. So far in 2013, he has 260 PHA points from dressage, endurance and ridden showing.

Salim was selected to represent England at the Home International in Wales in October 2011. He continues to combine affiliated British Dressage with his endurance career, and has notched up 29 BD points at Novice level with Emma by March 2013.

Salim and Susan should go far, combining her skill and experience with his energy and athleticism. We wish them every success.

Salim gained a Grade 1 in his first-ever 40-mile Open Endurance Ride in Windsor Great Park in July 2011 in 4 hours 43 minutes with an excellent pulse rate of 45prm at the end. Well done to trainer and rider Susan Hawes. In 2012 his success in 50 mile rides earned him FEI* status, allowing him to compete internationally in 2013.

Salim's stud career has got off to a good start. His first pure Crabbet foal from PHA Silver Heart was born in 2009, named Silver Sunbeam.

In November 2009, Salim took his first affiliated BD Novice test (left) ridden by Emma Thomas and came 1st against all breeds with a score of 65%+ earning him five British Dressage points.

Binley Prince Salim has impressed overseas visitors with his style, movement and beauty and captured the hearts of the camera crew who filmed him for the new channel "All 4 Horses" launched at the Horse of the Year Show.
