Gadebrook Stud was established in 1969 to breed Arabs of Old English and Crabbet lines, for their kind temperaments, soundness and agility. In 2006, Anne's cousin Alan Brooks contributed to the stud by jointly importing frozen semen from the American WAHO winner, Remington Steele*++, and jointly purchasing the Premium mare Jazmyn, then in 2007, jointly purchasing the world-renowned Premium stallion and racing legend Sambist to stand at Gadebrook

Hamsfah

Sadly they have all gone to that pasture in the sky but their photos feature on this page. They have left an exciting legacy of stock which are excelling in many fields, especially racing, endurance and dressage.

The straight Crabbet stallions Magic Domino and Hachim, both out of Hamsfah have achieved international renown.

Magic Domino is the only Arab ever to have won the Sport Horse Supreme National Championship in Canada. Now in the USA, he has achieved Supreme Legion of Honour Dressage status and won the coveted title of "National Leading Sport Horse Sire" at the 2009 American Sport Horse national championships.

Someone Special

Hachim at four became the youngest ever stallion to be granted Premium Stallion status by the AHS, when he completed the gruelling Performance Horse tests gaining a Grade 11 and beating all the other (older!) Arab stallions. After two seasons racing in the UK, he went to the Middle East where he won the Bahrain Endurance race in 2002, in record time, then represented his new country in the 2005 World Endurance
Championships in Dubai where he beat 173 top riders from 41 countries to
win the Gold in world record time.

Silver Indrette

Zarah

The gracious Silver Indrette, out of the British National Champion Indira, sadly never gave us fillies, only colts. However, she was a joy to own and show and a superb broodmare.

Zarah, a prolific broodmare, left a legacy of top quality stock, including Zaradon (by Donax) who won the Dubai Stakes at Kempton Park, Zaroda (by Herod), Zamorin (by Silver Domino), Zaharina (by Ludomino) and Jubilee Czar by Jubilee Star.

This small broodmare band was augmented in 1996 by the gift of Mrs Iona Bowring’s and Mr & Mrs David Peck's superb collection of top-class Crabbet horses.

Anne is indebted to the generosity of Mrs Iona Bowring and Mr & Mrs David Peck for the gift of their classic English mares, notably Silver Aura, who sadly died aged 27 in December 2007, Crystal Sheen (now with Louise Maryon), Getana and Silver Sylph whose stock by Silvern Spectre all added immeasurably to the stud’s success.

Silvern Sceptre’s tumour prevented him emigrating to the States with the Pecks, so he spent his last years with us, having had an almost unbeaten record in the show-ring both in-hand and under saddle.

His beauty, kindness and joie de vivre are missed every day, but continue in his wonderful off-spring.
