In 2005, Gadebrook Stud was delighted to
acquire the outstanding colt Binley Prince Salim as a two-week
old foal from Caroline Sussex. He came to Gadebrook after weaning.
He is by Binley's illustrious Prince Sadik out of the classic
Silvern Image, both AHS Premium horses, so of the highest quality
Crabbet bloodlines. Salim is now gelded.
As a 4-yr old, Salim went for dressage training
with Emma Thomas, and she has now taken him to over 120 Affiliated
British Dressage points and is about to start at Medium level
(below). Emma also rode Salim for me at the World Crabbet Convention
Parade 2013.
He has excelled in endurance with international rider Susan Hawes
(right). His successes up to 75 miles and in ridden showing and
dressage won him the Overall Championship in the 2013 AHS Performance
Horse Awards, presented at the National Arab Show in July 2014
(right). He also won the Premium Endurance Progeny award for 2013
for his breeder Caroline (left in blue), a proud day for all of
us, as both owner of Salim and as President of the Arab Horse
Society Anne handed out the trophies to Susan and Caroline.

with high scores at Advanced Medium level. His success gained
him the 2015 High Points dressage award in the Arab Horse Society
Performance Horse Awards (PHA) and helped him to reserve overall
champion in the Pure Bred section of the PHA. For the second time
he has been awarded the AHS Premium Progeny of the Year, sponsored
by Coed y foel stud - kudos to his breeder Caroline Sussex.

Salim and Susan should go far, combining her skill and experience
with his energy and athleticism. We wish them every success.
Salim gained a Grade 1 in his first-ever 40-mile Open Endurance
Ride in Windsor Great Park in July 2011 in 4 hours 43 minutes
with an excellent pulse rate of 45prm at the end. Well done
to trainer and rider Susan Hawes. In 2012 his success in 50
mile rides earned him FEI* status, allowing him to compete
internationally in 2013.
Salim's stud career has got off to a good start. His first
pure Crabbet foal from PHA Silver Heart was born in 2009,
named Silver Sunbeam.
